In Greek and Latin, the root "soma" means self, or whole being. The "dome" is the space. Somadome is a private sanctuary for the self that comes to you, when and where you need to recharge, relax, and restore.

Sarah Attia is the Founder and CEO. Somadome came to her in a dream in 1996. The mission is to create a more peaceful society — where people are more balanced, kinder, and calmer.

You'll be guided through a meditation of your choosing — tracks target a specific goal such as manifest, focus, love, or overcoming various obstacles. The experience immerses you in a synergistic cocoon of healing using LED color and light therapy, binaural beat meditation, and energy healing magnets. The space also shields from EMF and electronic device emissions, allowing your body's natural alignment to be restored. Put your phone in airplane mode if you bring it inside.

The dome is a healing structure. Its geometry creates containment and a sense of infinite space at once, allowing the body to relax and the mind to drop distractions. Every aspect of the design — seat angle, magnet placement, geometric pattern — is tuned to guide users into deep meditative states reliably.

No. The Somadome is not medical equipment and its modalities are not FDA-approved. It's classified as furniture — there are no FDA regulations or medical waivers required for use. The Somadome is a wellness offering, not a medical device or treatment, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Somadome's dome and modality technology is proprietary and patented. Trademarks are registered in the US, Mexico, Canada, Japan, China, Australia and New Zealand, the UK, and Russia.

Anyone. Sessions leave you feeling relaxed, replenished, or recharged depending on the session you choose. People who use the dome 2–3 times a week have the best results. Any age or health condition can benefit.

How you feel is how you'll know. Some problems will feel smaller. Solutions will come flooding in for others. Your mind may feel sharper, more balanced. Your body may feel more rested, calmer. You'll notice that you've entered the present moment.

Yes. The dome works with the lid open, partially closed, or fully closed. Many claustrophobic users report a sense of infinite space when the lid is closed.

Falling asleep is normal. Tracks like Snooze are designed to guide a resting state. Users typically wake feeling refreshed.

Yes. The dome features an optional fan and ventilation system the user can activate during a session.

Yes. The dome creates a healing space for going within, and supports the body by blocking EMF and other distractions. Anyone can benefit.

Yes — the dome is safe to use during pregnancy. There are no known contraindications for the modalities (LED therapy, binaural beats, low-static magnet therapy). It can help calm the nervous system, balance energy centers, and support a healthy pregnancy. If you have a specific concern, consult your doctor or therapist. Pacemaker users should not use magnet therapy and should consult their physician.

Somadome is primarily a wellness platform with documented case studies, white papers, and ongoing research across spas, gyms, healthcare environments, and academic institutions. The biohacking community has embraced it, but the foundation is wellness — supported by years of research and clinical use.

Choose what fits the moment — focus and clarity in the morning, energy or creativity midday, sleep or restoration in the evening. Tracks marked with the "talking head" icon include verbal guidance, which new meditators often prefer. All tracks include binaural beats.

There's a scientific reason. The brain needs at least 12 minutes to access the deep meditative states (theta for visualization, delta for deep healing). Energy medicine is also traditionally practiced in 20-minute increments — that's the minimum required for chi to begin to flow. 20 minutes is short enough to fit into a workday and more powerful than a power nap.

The sessions are curated specifically so you can use them repeatedly and continue to receive benefits. Regularity actually enhances the effects and allows you to go deeper.

The default setting for the dome is white. During a session, the dome shifts to a color matched to the color therapy for that meditation — green, violet, dark blue, or light blue — then returns to white once the session ends. You may notice a slight tinge of another color along the perimeter of the LED strip; that's normal and part of how the lighting transitions.

Yes. There's a volume knob inside the lower rear panel that adjusts overall output.

The opening is voiced by actress and Somadome friend Nathalie Kelley. The guided meditation content is by Kelly Howell, a world-renowned innovator in brainwave research.

Not yet — it's something we'll consider. We do have detailed videos walking through the experience from all angles in our video library.

The Somadome App is in beta and coming soon. When released, it will enable the user and partner experience to extend beyond the dome and carry presence into everyday life.

For users, the app will allow you to book sessions at your desired dome location, build a personal wellness profile, receive personalized journey recommendations, track sessions and wellbeing patterns, and connect with the global Somadome community.

These are the three healing modalities Somadome combines into each session. Binaural beats use sound to guide brainwave activity into specific states. Energy medicine uses low-static magnets to mitigate EMF and support the body's natural energy flow. Color therapy uses LED color and light to stimulate hormonal and biochemical responses. Even if you fall asleep, people consistently report emerging refreshed and renewed — returning to work or your workout with added energy and focus. There are no known negative side effects. Being in the Somadome carries the same risks as sitting at home in a chair listening to an audiobook.

Yes — energy medicine is safe and benign with no known contraindications. The exception is pacemaker users, who should consult their doctor before any magnet therapy. There is nothing in the Somadome that is FDA regulated.

No. The dome is designed to mitigate radiation, and the dome shape combined with embedded magnets shields against EMF.

Yes. Many domes are part of corporate wellness programs — placed in lobbies, hallways, wellness rooms, or shared workspaces. The dome doesn't require a dedicated room and integrates seamlessly into existing office environments.

Yes. Somadomes are actively being used with police departments, firefighters, and military and government partners. Harvard will be conducting a study on how Somadome supports veterans with PTSD. We are working on an integration that aligns with these populations' specific needs.

No measurable heat output. No external HVAC required. The dome has an optional internal fan and ventilation system the user can activate during a session.

Yes. We work with financing partners who work with qualifying businesses and individuals. Standard terms run 24–60 months based on credit profile. Yes — used domes are available for the US market only, due to the unpacking process they undergo once operational. Used domes don't include warranty or financing, though renewed warranty options are sometimes available with retrofit features.

Each dome is custom-built and equipped with the latest technology. As such, all sales are final — we don't accept returns or offer refunds once a dome has been delivered. If you have concerns regarding installation or functionality, our team will work with you to resolve them.

First, a room is static. The dome moves with your business and fits in a hallway, lobby, or studio corner. Second, the contained space matters — in the dome, the user is comfortable, safe, and held. Third, the dome's geometry and design — seat angle, magnet placement, audio-visual integration — are tuned to guide users into deep states reliably. Rooms can support meditation. The dome makes it consistent.

The Somadome ships from our warehouse in the Bay Area, California. Nearest port: Port of Oakland, CA, USA (USOAK). For orders of 10+ domes, we may be able to arrange to ship FOB from our manufacturing facility for additional volume savings.

US domestic shipping is included in the $18,000 MSRP. Hawaii and Alaska have additional shipping costs. Please reach out to our sales team for international shipping costs.

International installation is handled differently than domestic. Our white glove vendor services US destinations only. For international customers who want white glove, we charge a flat fee — then outsource and manage the local logistics end-to-end on your behalf, including breaking down the crate, on-site assembly, and contract management with the local installer. Most

international customers prefer this over managing one-off international setup themselves. Please reach out for a destination-specific quote.

Duties and taxes vary widely by country and are the customer's responsibility. We strongly recommend working with a customs broker. We're happy to connect you with one for your region. Our HTS code is 9402.10.0000 ("Other seats for meditation"); HSN code for metal furniture is 940320.

Notify us immediately and document the damage with photos and video. All shipments include insurance, and with proper documentation we can file a claim.

Self-installation is included in the dome price. You receive assembly tools, an illustrated installation guide, video walkthrough access, and live virtual support from a Somadome technician via phone or video. Most installs take 2–4 hours with one extra person to help with lifting; a flat furniture dolly is recommended. If you can assemble boxed furniture and operate a computer, you can self-install.

A certified Somadome technician comes on-site to install the dome for you. White glove pricing is tiered: first dome at $2,000, each additional dome at $1,000 — this benefits multi-dome customers in particular. The first-dome rate covers a single shipment to one address; additional-dome pricing applies whenever multiple domes are installed in the same engagement. International is a separate flat-fee structure (see "How does international installation work?" above).

Not assembled. The dome will need to be disassembled and reassembled to fit through a standard single doorway. The self-installation guide walks through this process and includes a video. Our technicians are also available on a call to support you.

We schedule a 6-hour window to be safe. Most installs finish faster.

Yes. Active partner locations are listed on our "Find a Dome" grid on the site and (once it launches) in the app. We also engage with all dome owners across our social channels and feature partners in our content and community efforts.

We've worked hard to develop our brand, and we recognize each dome lives in its own unique environment. We require approval before any new marketing materials or modifications to the Somadome brand are published. Our existing marketing assets are a strong starting point — your account manager can help you adapt them to your space.

Yes. Contact us to match your dome with a school or related organization. Once the destination is confirmed, we coordinate pickup, shipping, and delivery. Shipping cost can be covered by you (additional tax-deductible donation) or by the receiving location. You'll receive a tax-deductible receipt for the dome's current fair market value.

LEDs are covered under the 90-day electronics warranty. After that period, LEDs typically last for many years given their long lifespan. Replacement requires a certified Somadome technician.

Our oldest commercial domes have been operating for over a decade and are still going strong. All domes can be retrofitted if they have any issues. With normal use, every component can be repaired or replaced — domes can effectively last a lifetime if not subjected to abuse.

After the warranty period, we provide service and replacement parts at our cost — no markup. Virtual support is always available at no additional cost. On-site service is quoted at the lowest practical cost. Most issues resolve through virtual support.

Nominal — a quick wipe-down between sessions and occasional dusting. The dome doesn't require any technical maintenance, and software/content updates push automatically. There are no ongoing costs with ownership.
