Do you offer full and partial financing?
Yes. We work with two financing institutions nationally that enable qualifying businesses and individuals to finance their purchase of the dome.The minimum credit requirements for an established business (2 ½ years in business) to apply for financing reads as follows:
- At least 2 ½ years in business
- 700 Minimum Credit Score
- Sec of State Registration Active and in Good Standing
- No Outstanding Liens / Judgments
- All partners must complete the application
- Most recent 3 months bank statements (no more than 2 NSFs or Neg Daily Balances in 90 days)
Start Up businesses require a different underwriting process and are capped at 36-to-48-month terms.
The interest rate, terms and monthly payments are driven by the overall credit profile ranging from A-D. Terms range from 24 to 60 months based on credit profile.
Because there are so many variables involved we can’t really list certain benchmarks as they can vary depending on the full picture of a customer’s situation. For example, someone with an 800 FICO may not have favorable criteria elsewhere and get declined or a higher rate than someone with a 700 FICO who has a better overall profile.
Given the unique nature of each individual’s credit profile, we believe there is no single definition for “good credit.” However, we find that individuals with good credit usually share the following characteristics:
- Several years of credit history.
- A credit history with a variety of account types such as major credit cards (for example, Visa, MasterCard, Amex), installment debt (vehicle loans) and mortgage debt if applicable.
- A good payment history with few, if any, delinquencies or other problems repaying debt obligations.
- An ability to save evidenced by some or all of the following; liquid assets (stocks, bonds, bank deposits, etc.), cash down payments on real estate, retirement savings, and manageable revolving credit card debt.
- Stable and sufficient income and assets to repay current debt obligations and any new loan.
Finally, it should be noted again that each individual profile is different and that we make our credit decision based on the specific facts of that profile. Ultimately our determination of good credit is based on whether we conclude that there is a high likelihood that our loan will be repaid in a full and timely manner.

Can I buy a used dome? If so, what are the terms?
Yes, please contact us to find out what is available. Our used domes are exclusively available for the US market due to the unpacking process they undergo once they are operational, making international shipping more challenging.
Also, used domes do not come with a warranty and no financing options. However, in some cases if you opt for a renewed warranty, they will be equipped with retrofit features. For further details, please feel free to contact us.
Can I pilot / rent a Somadome to trial it for my concept to determine if we want to move forward? Do you have used domes available for trials?
It is not our business model to do short-term placements as this taxes us operationally and makes no margin for us. However, if it is the right opportunity with potential growth that could be meaningful, we will always consider it a ‘one-off.’
It depends on where you are in the world and if we have a dome in your market that can potentially be briefly placed with you. The terms will depend on the effort it will require us to make a pilot happen and will vary case to case.

What is your return policy?
At Somadome, each dome is custom-built and equipped with the latest technology to ensure optimal performance. As such, all sales are final. In the rare event that your Somadome requires adjustments or upgrades, we stand behind our product and will provide service or support to ensure it meets our high standards. Please note, we do not accept returns or offer refunds once a dome has been delivered.
If you have any concerns regarding installation or functionality, our team is committed to working with you to resolve them.

What if something happens during shipping?
Please notify us immediately and take photos /videos of any damage. All shipments include insurance and with proper documentation we can file a claim
What if my shipment takes longer than expected?
There are many factors in shipping; timing, volume, weather, connections, etc.. On rare occasions there can be circumstances out of our control and shipments can be delayed. We will work with you to make sure your shipment arrives safely in a timely manner.
Can we select the delivery date and time once it has been shipped?
Upon shipping your dome, we will provide you with an estimated delivery date and strive to keep you informed with timely updates. Additionally, you will receive a notification on the day of delivery. While we make every effort to be as accurate as possible, various uncontrollable factors such as customs, flight delays (in the case of international shipping), climate conditions, volume, and connections may impede our ability to provide an exact delivery time. How fast can I get one?
On average, the fastest is 2-3 days depending on where you are located. For overseas shipments the fastest is 5 – 7 business days. There are many variables that can affect your shipment. We do our best to ship our domes in the fastest most economical way.
How are duties / taxes determined?
Duties & taxes are determined by and vary widely by country. It is highly suggested you work with a customs broker for the calculation of duties and taxes owed and to ensure the smooth importation of your Somadome into your country. We will be happy to connect you with a customs broker to work with for your region.
Is it classified as a medical device?
No, it is classified as furniture; there are no FDA regulations or medical contraindications for using the Somadome, or medical waivers required.

MAINTENANCE - Warranty & Ongoing Usage
What is the warranty?
Are the lights covered by the warranty? What is the standard cost to replace them?
What is the expected lifespan of the dome? And how long do these machines last?
We plan on your dome working mechanically well for a very long time! We have confidence in our manufacturing partner, Land America. They have built their reputation over many years manufacturing high quality brands such as Stairmaster, Schwinn, and Precor.
Our oldest domes are our market entry ones and they are still running. They were prototypes and used to test the market as we set up to scale production and are from 2014-2016. All domes can be retrofitted if they have any issues. We believe domes will last a lifetime as long as they aren’t subjected to abuse. Every part of it could be repaired or replaced if damaged. What is the oldest machine you have and do you have references for people that have these in their home?
Currently the oldest dome is eight years old and still going strong. We have a lot of happy home references and testimonials from our users. Please contact us if you are looking for something specific.
How do you service domes out of warranty or support us if something goes wrong?
The warranty is 6 months on the electronics (tablet, headphones, lights) and 5 years on the mechanical hardware. Within this period we will service and replace parts using our technicians at no cost to you. After that we will provide these services and parts at-cost. We will always strive to provide technical support to you at the lowest possible cost. Our technicians are available to hop on calls for virtual assistance and if you have capable maintenance technicians onsite that could work with our field technicians we are happy to train them. In many cases, this would then reduce service costs compared to having our technician fly out to do a given repair.
Do I need an in house maintenance technician for the dome?
Does the dome come with backup tablets or headphones?
No, however we can provide at cost for you with the purchase of your dome.
What happens if the dome gets scratched? Is it covered by warranty?
Since the dome is still fully functional and a scratch is caused by some sort of accident, a scratch is not considered a malfunction of the part, therefore it is not covered by warranty. What you can do is clean any dirt or scuff marks that are in the scratch of the acrylic. This can be done using an alcohol wipe or rubbing alcohol and a rag. Once the scratch has been cleaned out as much as possible, take a standard/classic toothpaste such as Colgate Cavity Protection and apply a dab of it to the scratch, as you would a wax, and rub it into the scratch in a circular motion. Then take a dry piece of your rag and buff out the paste. This should help to further clean and fill in the scratch.
