Somadome was a vision that was sparked in 1996.

Sarah Attia had travelled the world and found peace in moments of serenity, simplicity, and balance only to return home to the daily stressors and distractions that inevitably flooded her personal and professional life.

The space came in a dream to be born from her own innate need to go within — to calm her senses, clear her mind, ground herself–to emerge better able to connect with herself and others.

“I missed the heart to heart connections and the time when our sense of self wasn’t defined so largely by our social media handles.”

Every sentient being has an inner guiding voice, but this voice is easily drowned out by the mounting sounds and distractions of everyday life. It is this voice that we need though–it is invaluable in shining light on some of life’s more complex workings.

Especially for those in action-oriented environments, we need to remind ourselves that not all actions require physical action. Sometimes the action is simply sitting and stopping. Listening.

2001: The dream was born

2011: The vision grew to a roaring pitch- the founder gave in.

2012: Somadome was born.

Somadome has been a journey- it has taken many hands and hearts to build, and has touched many more along the way. Each person involved has arrived serendipitously as the Universe has helped the idea come to fruition.
