What are the physical dimensions of the Somadome?

Length x Width: 6’ x 3’4” (153 cm x 102 cm) *We suggest providing at least an additional foot of floor space around the dome.
Height: 4’8” (142 cm) with dome closed. 5’4” (162 cm) with dome open.

What is the power draw of the Somadome?
The “amperage” for the unit power supply is +/- 1 amp. It is a 120 watt power supply; if a contractor is putting in a specific dedicated circuit it should be a standard 120v AC 15amp circuit. It requires one standard, three-pronged plug and can be easily converted with an adaptor in any country. It connects to a standard American 3-prong plug and is compatible with all of the world’s major frequencies and voltages, but an adapter or converter may be required. We will make sure you have everything you need to connect to your power source. It should always remain plugged-in as powering the Somadome on and off disrupts the app and requires more overall power usage. The LEDs use very little power when in standby state.
Are there any specific HVAC requirements?
No, the Somadome generates no heat and does not require any external air or ventilation system. It has an optional fan / ventilation system inside the dome for which the user can optionally select during their session.
Does Somadome have international certifications/approvals for its electronics?

Yes, the power supply of the Somadome has BIS, BSMI, CB, CCC, CE, cULus, EAC, GS, KC, PSE, RCM, SIRIM certifications/approvals.

Does Somadome connect to wifi?

No, the current model of Somadome operates as a standalone system and does not connect to wifi or cellular networks.

Does Somadome have an energy efficiency rating?
No it does not.
Are there specific network connection requirements?
No. There is a possibility that a WIFI connection could be needed from time to time to update the local app for content additions or software updates, however, this is not required for the proper functioning of the unit.
Does the Somadome generate any heat?
No. The Somadome doesn’t produce any measurable heat.
What is the expected lifespan of the dome?
We plan on your dome working mechanically well for a very long time – and we have confidence in our manufacturing partner, Land America. They have built their reputation over many years manufacturing high quality brands such as Stairmaster, Schwinn, and Precor.
What is the warranty?

 Our electronics are warranted beyond their off the shelf warranty and are covered (LEDs, headphones, tablet); for six months. We don’t anticipate issues with our electronics and source them from quality vendors; however should one of these items have an issue outside of the initial six month warranty period, we will replace them to you at our cost. Warranty is voided by misuse or negligence. All non-electrical hardware on the dome is covered for five years.

If I were to buy, is there a maintenance technician that is needed to work on this equipment?
The warranty is 90 days on the electronics (tablet, headphones, lights) and 1-year on the mechanical hardware. Within this period we will service and replace parts using our technicians at no cost to you. After that we will provide these services and parts at-cost. We will always strive to provide technical support to you at the lowest possible cost which means if you have capable maintenance technicians onsite that could work with our field technicians virtually for a given issue, we are happy to train them to do so when we’re on-site for the installation. In many cases, this would then reduce service costs compared to having our technician fly out to do a given repair.
Do you provide virtual support?
Yes we provide virtual support via phone, email, and video call whenever possible. Most servicing issues can be resolved in this manner.
Are the lights covered by the warranty? What is the standard cost to replace?

The led lights are covered under warranty for six months. This gives sufficient time to know if there’s the off chance of any manufacturer defects. Assuming they are working properly once installed, these lights should not have to be replaced for a very long time as they’re LED’s which have an exponentially longer lifespan compared to a traditional light bulb. If the LED’s were in fact used enough to need replacement one day, that would require a certified Somadome technician to which we would quote the cost of replacement at that time.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Delivery
The Somadome is shipped from our warehouse in the Bay Area, California. For orders of more than 10 domes, we may be able to arrange to ship FOB from our manufacturing facility to you direct to receive volume discounts. The dome is shipped fully assembled, is easy to uncrate and requires simply plugging it in and turning it on. It will not, however, fit through a standard single doorway without requiring disassembly. We have both White Glove and Self-Installation options available.
Installation
As your dome is shipped fully assembled, it requires a 41″ (104 cm) wide path-to- placement through all doorways, hallways, elevators, etc. If 41″ (104 cm) is not available, a Somadome technician will have to disassemble and reassemble the dome at its final placement location. Alternatively, we offer detailed written and video installation materials, and can support you virtually during your installation.
What is required to install?
Your dome comes with the tools required to assemble; however, if the dome needs to be taken apart; white glove installation services are available for a separate fee. If you prefer to continue with self-installation it is suggested you have at least one additional individual to help with lifting and the use of a flat furniture dolly is highly recommended.

Yes. To date, we’ve successfully sold and shipped domes to the U.A.E, UK, Russia, Canada, Chile, and Japan and are currently in process for a partnership in Australia and New Zealand. Please contact us at info@somadome.com to learn more.

Import/Duties
Duties and taxes vary widely by country. It is highly suggested you work with a customs broker for the calculation of duties and taxes owed and to ensure the smooth importation of your Somadome into your country. We will be happy to connect you with a customs broker to work with for your region.

How long does the installation take?
This is dependent on many factors. To be safe, we schedule a six-hour installation window.

What is your return policy?

All new Somadome purchases come with a 30-day guarantee and are returnable and refundable minus initial shipping and installation costs for 30 days after the official date of installation and will incur a $1000 restocking fee + return shipping costs except to the extent covered under warranty or subject to buyback provisions. For products to remain returnable, original wooden crate, pallet, mounting straps, bolts and packing materials must be kept in working condition. If these materials have not been kept in working condition, Purchaser will be subject to an additional $1,000 crating fee for returns. This return policy does not apply to international orders.

SPACE & PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS

Ideal Placement Location?

The Somadome does not require its own room and can easily be placed in a waiting room, lobby, or any otherwise underused floor space. The environment inside the dome is noise-canceling, and we have many placements’ users’ experiences not materially compromised by busy surroundings. The main goal with placement is to create a space that feels special and private, so that the user’s feet are ideally not facing a lot of foot traffic. The optimum direction to face the dome’s opening from which the user’s feet come out is north in relation to the energy healing tiles within the base.

The Somadome should not be placed in direct sunlight as it can impact the experience, and should be kept indoors to protect it from unnecessary damage caused by the elements. To best experience the benefits of Somadome, it is recommended to place it away from bright direct overhead lighting or for these lights to be dimmed or turned off during sessions. Direct overhead light competes with the LEDs inside of the dome, resulting in a minimized delivery of color therapy provided by the lighting that is tuned to each specific session type.

Operation / Management of The Dome

The Somadome is very low maintenance and draws a nominal amount of power. Because its default light setting is white, it is intended to stay ‘lit’ or in the on position. The LEDs are designed to stay on at all times without a drain on the overall wattage requirements. The dome requires little more cleaning than a wipe down of its anti-microbial cushions, handles, touchscreen and headphones in-between uses.

How is the dome operated for scheduling, use, and payment?

Currently all scheduling and payment is handled through the host’s existing systems. We are in the process of developing a mobile application that will also provide these options.

In most service environments, operators prefer a more hands-on interaction with their guests since they likely have their own operator or guest liaison to schedule other services, as well as take payment and check guests in. For environments offering the dome as an amenity such as co-working spaces, hotel or living area lobbies, or other environments where sessions are offered as a perk to members – our external scheduling system can help. 

Maintenance
The dome requires nominal ongoing maintenance aside from basic cleaning and upkeep. Should any issues arise, we will always do our best to bring your Somadome to perfect capacity as quickly as possible. If a part does not fall under warranty, we will replace and repair any relevant part at cost; however all hardware is built to endure many uses over many years. The dome does not require any technical maintenance and software/content updates are pushed automatically from our home network.

What else is included in my purchase?

After Delivery & Installation, we will set up a call to walk you through our Somadome Starter Kit, which includes all the marketing, operations, and training resources and assets you will need, as well as access to our research links and white papers. For market-facing domes, we invite your involvement in our ongoing community of business owners/operators to share best practices, and plug into our social efforts to promote your business.

Can I become a reseller/distributor?

We are building a network of resellers, distributors, and passionate individuals globally. If you are interested in representing Somadome in your market, please contact us.

We also offer a referral reward to our placement partners worldwide who’s recommendations yield the completion of a dome acquisition by your referral. Do you offer financing?

What is your technology roadmap and how will the product evolve?
We are continually improving and evolving the Somadome experience and our suite of offerings. New development announcements will be made soon.
Are there any ongoing costs with owning a dome?
There are no ongoing costs with ownership. Your dome comes with PDF links to all of our marketing, training, and operations assets and you will be updated and included as new materials are created. If you wish to print user collateral beyond what we provide with your initial purchase, we direct you to online printing vendors with whom we’ve negotiated volume rates for user collateral such as session menus and brochures.
What is Somadomes IP status?
Somadome’s technology, specific to the dome and its healing modalities, is proprietary to the company. It is patented, and our name is registered.
Are there any customization options available for my dome?
At this point we only have our white, single design, model available. If you’d like to customize the color of either the exterior / body of your dome or its fabric inside; this may be possible for an additional cost. Please contact us directly to inquire.
Can I create my own marketing materials for the Somadome?
We have worked hard to create our brand, and although we realize each and every dome will live in its own unique ‘home’ – which is your brand and culture, we appreciate your respecting our existing messaging and brand identity as you work to integrate your Somadome into your business, work space, or home. We therefore require approval before any marketing or brand modifications are made to the Somadome brand or promotional materials you may decide to develop and disseminate; and hope that those we have created will enable you to have a rich platform from which to begin. Please contact us directly to brainstorm, or for any help editing and marketing as you reference our library of marketing and business support / best practices materials we have built after many years of business development and market testing.
Can I incorporate my own tracks/music into the Somadome?
No. The sound healing/binaural beats modality plays a very important role in the Somadome experience. As we continue to grow and expand our content library, we are certainly open to working with sound healing professionals. Please contact us to inquire about working with us.
Will I be included in software updates and updates to the session library?
Yes, your purchase will grandfather you in to future software and content updates. We are finalizing development and beginning to beta our mobile application that will have an expansive content library that includes other modalities users can do out of the dome as well like sound healing and breath work. Once this application is available for use with your purchased dome, we will contact you to ensure you are set up to use it.
Are there any clinical studies underway or published?

We have formed a Research Advisory Board comprised of experts in the field of neuroscience, energy medicine, and color and light therapies; and we have conducted several in-house research studies as well as have several underway.

Among research conducted, in partnership with Dr. Oz’s HealthCorps as well as the Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks, CA and a doctor of naturopathic medicine in Phoenix, we have evaluated various metrics in controlled groups to determine the impact of the Somadome on these groups of individuals regarding performance, recovery, and stress / anxiety reduction:

  • At-Risk youth in middle school and high school
  • Firefighters on the front line after the California wildfires
  • Professional athletes pre and post performance to evaluate training and recovery

In addition, we have an NIH grant underway through partnership with UCLA’s cardiology department to determine the Somadome’s impact on blood pressure and heart rate variability with cardiac patients.

Research gathered to date demonstrates a strong positive correlation between marked improvements in blood pressure, resting pulse, focus and concentration, as well as overall wellness and mental wellbeing with as little as 2 – 3 sessions. Research conducted on single use indicates improved mood and overall wellbeing with only one use in 92% of users surveyed.
